Bob "Whitey" McDonald only made one pass the entire weekend. He hadn't had time to cool when his class was called and he didn't want to hurt the car. That pass wasn't too pretty. The tires spun and he was in and out of it and still ran a 9.1-something. Not bad for an injected flathead. There are other pictures of the car's engine on this web page, but I hadn't seen the car with the cowl off since he took out the clutch and put in a Powerglide. Super sanitary is all I can say. Notice how the transmission is separated from the driver's compartment by a second fire wall.
