Defeating Troy Green in the final for their very first Top Fuel victory, Roger Lechtenbergh and crew took the honors on Sunday. They also set low ET and top speed of the meet with 6.211 sec. and 232.60 mph.

"Wild Bill" Alexander in "Root Beer" Hedges MasterCam car was the first round quickest qualifier, so that won them a birth in the lowest-qualifier-in-each-round-winner-take-all shootout Saturday night. Since the first and second quickest in the second round couldn't make the call, they looked like a shoe in. But...

Beedy and Lutz were the Cinderella story of the weekend. Their injected (like with no blower) Chrysler won the Top Fuel lowest-qualifier-in-each-round-shoot-out Saturday night. It's a long story, but the second round low qualifying Champion Speed Shop car blew the engine and next lowest qualifying car was having problems and decided to pass. Beedy and Lutz were next in line. They stepped right up to the plate and won the money when "Wild Bill" in the MasterCam car got a late start and couldn't catch them. Their motto? No Blow - Just Nitro!
