Gingress and Peerman

Out of focus, damaged, and crooked, but it's the only picture I've got of the Gingress and Peerman Top Fueler in daylight (did I get the name right). This was a local car. Although it never was cheap, back in those days you didn't need millions of dollars and corporate sponsorship to go top fuel racing.

I can't recognize anyone in this photo, except that my racing partner, Dwain Winters, frequently wore clothes like the headless fellow in blue at the far left and often assumed that pose. It seems to me that John Dearmore was associated with this car at some time or another. Notice the faint lettering on the '57 Chevy in the background. Shawn Jennings sent me this information about it. "The 57 chevy is Charley Rucker. It was sponcered by Salina Precison Automotive. He thought it was around '66-'67? It was a 301, dual 4, 4 speed E-Mod. Its nickname was "The Pickle" Charley said it ran 12.7s-12.9s." Today Charley's race car is a very hard launching blue '69 Mustang with a four speed.
