Flathead Altereds

The altered of Ron Tluchak. Ron has tried to keep his car as it might have been way back when - standard transmission, no radiator, Halibrand spoked front wheels, gasoline fuel, and so on. Those long header pipes made a great sound! He towed all the way from New Jersey by himself to participate.

I don't know who owns the altered in the foreground, but it ran on alcohol with a two barrel Holly carburetor adapted to a four barrel manifold. The white '50 behind the altered belongs to Doug & Susan Hampton, and the lady in the red primer '29 is Janice Sayles.

Above is a street rod built by Ray Seidel. It has an amazing amount of high tech stuff in it. Virtually everything in or on the engine is coated with something appropriate for its use, the ports and heads are machined for an unconventional flow path, the car's frame is aluminum tubing which also carries water between the engine and the radiator, the intake manifold is a highly modified Chevy cross ram, and I could go on for some time.
